New to IM. Quick Question

Hello guys, I'm new to IM and so I'm starting my journey. I'm in the beginning stages of building my website. Now I know this might sound dumb to most of you but for ranking on google, can I just copy and paste information for a particular product onto my site or do I have to write it in my own words? Thanks!
