Hey guys! Been lurking Black Hat for about a month now. Little brief description on myself: I am a competitive bodybuilder that has set up a website selling different workout and nutrition programs and custom monthly programming. I'm looking to get more traffic and start building more towards my site! Also using Instagress on my Instagram account and am currently at 25k followers. Started a second account on IG running Instagress as well and trying to build more following through that! I'm VERY NOOB when it comes to SEO and such but have been inspired by alot of different posts and stories on here!

    Website is set up!
I'm starting a blog up on the site as well and want to create articles summarizing other articles from major fitness & health websites linking to their articles. Is this a form of backlinking?? Is this helping my rankings? (I am new to this so would love to get some input and explanation if I am doing this correct)

Thanks again guys and hope to build some good traffic here!

    Hello Mate

If you are new to SEO simply do not try and play with site with wrong SEO technique simply outsource and keep watch what they do ...doing wrong way SEO will lead to nothing but ur own website :)

if you are not hurry then keep reading on SEO on BHW and take tips and then start working on SEO slow initially

If you need any help or guidance let me know happy to help

    Regards
    Adroit

As a competitive bodybuilder you no doubt know what you are talking about. Get active on bodybuilding forums and drive traffic to your site. Get a facebook page going, and also get active in FB bodybuilding groups. (Don't spam them)

To answer your question about summarizing other articles and linking to them, the answer is no, this is not backlinking. This is content curation, and your link is going out to another site so it is a backlink for them (this is fine to do BTW). But what you really want is links coming into your site from other relevant sites. There are different ways to do this (keep reading threads on this forum for more info) but if you can write some great content and get it published on major health & fitness websites as a guest post, you will get a strong link and lots of traffic.

But before you start a blog for seo purposes you need to learn "Keyword Research" first, or else your blog posts won't have any focus to rank for. After that you need to learn "on-site SEO". Then your blog posts will be primed to rank and draw relevant traffic. Neither of these things is difficult to learn, they just take a little practice, and there are tools that can help.

Get some great content on your site and build up your social media following. Learn keyword research and on-site SEO. Write blog posts for your site targeting long-tail keywords. Build up your reputation online and write some great content that you can submit for guest posts on reputable health and fitness sites. To boost the rankings of your blog posts you can either learn off-site SEO (right here on BHW) or pay someone else to do it (again, on BHW).

I wish you the very best of luck with your site and with your bodybuilding efforts.

    Welcome to BHW

I'm in the same boat. Aspiring bodybuilder, also trying out instagress. Do you tend to use the automated liker and commenter or one or the other?
