New to affilliate programs and looking for advice

Hello people,

I'm new to this forum and I need some advice on affiliate programs issue.
I own a dating website, relatively new, and I'm looking for ways to increase my traffic so hopefully you will be able to help me with that.

Can you recommend a profitable and reliable affiliate program?

Any help/advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated!

Short term - PPC, although expensive and budget constraining, can bring in a good stream of visitors. There are also websites and even services here on BHW that sell traffic, although most of the time its very poor, non-targetted traffic.

Long term - SEO, hire a professional SEO company to optimize your site. This is a very competitive niche but with the right SEO work (and a little luck), you'll be able to see a steady flow of visitors from search engines.
 
If youre charging money for the membership on your site and share a good amount with potential affiliates you could get some targeted traffic. win-win i guess! But i dont know where you can setup a small affiliate program. In my country there are only big players which charge big fees b4 they set up a program for you. Maybe someone else can help you out on this one.
 
The only good ways I know to generate traffic are to either;

Pay for some PPC ads placements

Purchase some media placements (putting a banner or something on someone else site for an agreed fee)

or adopt some of the many blackhat "tricks" to increase your presence a bit

or create a webpage with a keyword question domain, get some posts going about it, create a few entries into hubpages, squidoo, yahoo answers etc and you should see some results

What do you mean some blackhat "tricks" to increase mypresence a bit ? :)
 
Well to be honest I am not one to advise someone to use blackhat techniques if they are using a legitimate/main affiliate account and want to rank with it, so actually forget using blackhat to build your legitimate venture. You can easily rank with some patience using the keyword dating questions technique i mentioned and create similar spins to enter in different article websites.

You can upload a couple videos to youtube about your new dating website and create a facebook page. Use some of the facebook tools available on the download and BH tool section to increase your "believability" and get some comments going with other FB pages. There are some members here offering FB services check out the services/trade section here.
