new squidoo backlink building technique?

Well I get an e-mail from squidoo that says

Lucky duck! Someone has submitted a new item to your Plexo module "New Amazon Recommendations" on the lens Say Good Bye to Google Pay-Per-Click

A Plexo module apparently allows visitors to add a product to my amazon products listing. The guy dident actually add a product he added

Now I clicked his link and it gave me a 404 error wich looks like his script isnt working but is that enough for Google to count as a backlink? would this be a new little BH link building technique we could all cash in on? or is he using it to just gaing traffic from my lens?

A technique? More like a little kitten trying to steal the meal of a lion. "Eat me too", or: "Report me, I'm an idiot".
