New Site not getting Indexed?

I bought an expired domain for new site a month ago, published 20 articles but still only 4 articles are indexed, I don't know what's wrong with domain or google?
Has anyone faced this problem or have solution?
Tried everything:
GSC submission
submit to indexer as well
 
Advertise on BHW
First check the Google Webmaster dashboard to see if all of your articles have been submitted by Google.
Make sure the map site is connected and if you are in a hurry, you can submit articles manually.
 
Have you tried sending a quality backlink at a page?
 
Check the GSC for any issues on the pages.
Did you submit the sitemap?
FYI, sometimes it takes a long time for content to get indexed when you have an expired domain.
 
It can take a month or so, and consistency, sometimes, to get indexed, although there may be other reasons why. You have all your metadescriptions, etcetera? I wrote for a news site that saw millions in monthly traffic.

You can rank with, or even outrank, mainstream news if your genre is specific enough.
 
It depends on many factors but Google has slowed down the natural index rate a lot which is sometimes a bit annoying for some people in the case of your site it could be many things such as

Penalty
low quality content
onpage issue
lack of Social prove
Site history can affect it sometimes over past owner Google hates if that's case just submit a request to change ower such as say the person in charge was called Michael Jones then change it to your name or someone else name to fix that.

1. Submit sitemap
2. Give 3-5 social signal
3. Give 2-3 back link
4. Make sure the posts has a link in index
5. Force google to crawl your site from webmasters tool


AIf above does not work for you - your domain or site has some real issue which google will tell you sooner or later.

Some weeks ago I accidentally made some of my pages „noindex“. Have a look there.
 
Indexing is a waiting game
Just because the other 4 got indexed doesn't mean all posts will catch up
What shows up when you type in site: yourdomain.com?
 
I have a domain penalized the same way and it has been reported from multiple users in here since a month or so,
How's the content created for the website? how about the number & quality of links?
 
I have an aged site that used to have posts indexed within hours or days (4 days the most).

But since the May update, not sure if it has been under G's blacklist or it triggered its AI, my new posts won't get indexed as quick. It would show that "discovered, but not indexed".

And mind you it is a quality article written by native English writer who is an expert in the topic, and it's backed with sources and all.

No matter how much I try to ping or manually requesting it to be indexed, nothing happens. So I figured to let it run its course as I publish other new articles... and they get indexed as normal.

Guess what? That post that can't get indexed was finally indexed.... 2 months later.
 
Actually indexing takes time, kindly wait for it.
Also check for the Onpage optimising factors like meta description, title tag for each page, etc.
Build some internal links, it may help you.

Keep Publishing quality content article, and do wait for it, indexing naturally occurs if everything on your side.
 
Make sure that the page(s) that's not getting indexed doesn't have these meta tags in the source code: <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW">
Sitemaps - Your sitemap isn't updating for some reason, and you keep feeding the old/broken one in Webmaster Tools.
 
Maybe you have crawl errors. Check googles webmaster tools. Also, having too much duplicate content on a website can cause search engines to become confused and stop crawling it. if all are okay try to build some tire 2 links for the articles you published.
