Anyone ever have a new site start right off with PR? I'm all about snagging expired domains, but this is a fresh domain that's only about 2 weeks old and its a PR2 with a couple PR1 inter pages.

Its got a few articles with a total of a little over 5000 words all unique of course. The one backlink is same niche d0-f0llow PR4.

Does this sound right?

The same thing happened to me but the pr went away from my website. This may be a google thing..

Pagerank actually depends on a lot of factors and not just the backlinks. It depends on the quality of the site, theme, content and the on-page SEO as well. I have even seen brand new websites with just one page content reaching upto PR6.

Well, I've launched sevral of these same sites targeting different KW and none have any PR right out of the gate. Pretty cool stuff..

White trash, I am.

its nothing strange actually, if you have backlink from 4PR do follow,- you may even end up having pr3

not a bid deal tho

it happens. unfortunately in another 2 weeks things will be different.

Search for PageRank Prediction or page rank predictor ,
the one I like to use is nextpr . info as they give you a clue as to what is likely to happen.

Same thing happened with one of my site too, brand new - zero content - with a landing page with message "under construction" - 3 bookmarking done (reddit, delicious, stumbleupon) the first day it launched - after 3 days - it got a PR-3 :D

After 22 days exactly, PR reduced to just 1. It's still a PR-1 after 7 months now with the same "under construction page" and no backlinks done ever except that initial 3 bookmarkings. I had no time to build a site on the domain - thinking of putting some unique content next week.

So, yes it fall into PR-1, but considering the zero content and only 3 regular backlinks - it's still good, I think it's just a google glitch..lol
