"New ranking factor!"
Good morning, friends. I thought that sharing this link might interest many people. This could be a significant issue for my business, and I believe for yours as well. For instance, to consistently stay in the 3-packs, will we be forced to lie about our actual opening and closing hours? If a user, comfortably in bed at 3:00 AM, searches for a 'shower maintenance' service with the intention to call at 9:30 AM, they won't find the business—even if you're ranked first throughout the entire opening and closing hours!

Can't you just set it to always open?
Certainly, but it would go against Google's guidelines. Also, imagine writing that you're open on Saturdays, and your business is actually closed. A customer tries to call five times with no response! In Italy, a negative review would come in immediately!

Maybe I've missed something but if you only want calls at certain times then I suppose it doesn't matter if you only rank at those times.

Only issue is the the google bot will call you to confirm your hours

You can have a call center that takes calls during your real off hours and they book the appointments for when you open. However, this could lead to negative reviews sometimes.

is this for real? they don't put it really easy at the time to rank, 24/7 service will rock with this but I believe is not that easy and only put 24/7 and leave it like that.

I agree with guys. Google can call and confirm working hours once it detects wrong working hours that can hurt your top-3 pack. It is better to add the valid working hours.

i am open 9-5 but call forward my phone till 8pm . Maybe i should say i am open till 8 and just make sure i answer the calls

This linked article is actually very insightful. And I believe it could be something worthwhile - the opening hours. However, their test is not very sufficient proof.

Its not a "new" ranking factor. Hours have always been a ranking factor...

Now, the dilemma you're facing—whether to fudge the hours a bit to cater to those late-night searchers—well, it's a tricky one. While it might seem tempting to optimize for every possible search scenario, honesty is still the best policy here.

Google's pretty savvy these days, and they're not too keen on businesses playing fast and loose with their info. Plus, imagine the backlash if someone actually shows up at your door at 3 AM expecting a shower fix!
