New PPC Ad Network? Advice?

So I need some advice as a noob to IM. Looking to make $ online full time. One of the business models is to start my own PPC Network. Its a commercial script ($150-$250), with all the support, updates, more features and the G bla bla bla right.

I have a few ideas on how to get publishers right a way, starting with about 30 per month, As far as advertisers I have a few ideas there too.

Any way tried to do the regular industry research but can only find info on the top tier guys, so no good for me.

Can anyone give there option on this business model in becoming an ad network owner, worth the time or waste of money?

If you are asking about it and saying you are gonna run it on your $150 script , you are mentaly not ready for it!
Trust me.. been there and you will shit your pants when all the stuff starts and with your $200 budget what your dad gave you wont be enough!

well thanks guys......i think. in reply and maybe to get a real answer, the script itself is the most expensive i found and has the most features. If you know of a better one let me know.

no i dont want to know "how" to start or run an ad network i wanted to get an opinion on if new networks are or could be profitable or if it was a big waste of time due to the big G and Yahoo and the other big names being so popular.

and yes i may be a noob to IM but not to the business world and was really looking to create a real business rather than the normal e-book crap you see. and i understand advertising companies and how they work offline.

and maybe i should not say crap because i really don't know how much they make. so i'll take that back.

and $250 is not my full budget if it was, my next capital purchase would be a gun to blow my brains out. just joking.

i am full aware that this sort of idea will take more than average effort and require large amounts of capital for marketing and promotion. All of which I am more than willing and financially able to do.

the loss of money does not scare me, rather the loss of time and effort, because you can always get more money but time can never be replaced.

so with that being said i will ask this way, if properly funded and with proper dedication can a new ad network set up just like adsense attract advertisers and publishers on a regular basis, or is the market too saturated with the big guys?

on a side note before you start flaming about someones budget or financial standings, understand that you dont know how much money I make at my day job (looking to quit, burnt out), you dont know what kind of watch I wear, the car I drive, kind of house i live in or anything else about me. and i dont need to go into details, that would be tasteless.

maybe i posed the question wrong, maybe i should have given more details on the idea, the script and on my budget, ok i'll give you that but really some real feed back on the idea would be nice.

ok i understand its a big deal for a noob, but i dont exactly flip bergers for a living either. so i have two questions for you being out of the 3 replies i got so far you seem to have the most posts and i thought your reply was actually funny and not so rude.

1. Do you think (or any one else for that matter) if someone has great sales ability and business knowledge offline they can make the jump to online or IM full time and still make money, and when i say money i mean $10k on a bad month after you get really running? And no i don't mean stealing out of other peoples paypal account or anything crazy.

Before you answer understand that i have done a few online projects that died due to day job. These projects were simply to get a feel for working online and see for myself if some of the traffic ideas i was reading about really worked. To give you an idea i stated a free hosting service and was getting about 30 new sign ups a month using directory marketing only, ran it for a few months and again it died due to day job. Nothing major but to me it showed it could be done. And I only did about 20 min worth of work on it every other day.

2. So maybe a PPC network is not such a great idea, ok i can deal with that, i have already made up my mind to start a movie site just to see how it goes, but i have also read that when you first start online you should do something the in same industry you came from. Sounds logical but is it true and what if the industry you come from is over populated online? Any feed back there?

i still have not let go the idea, because no one has given me a clear answer, although not sure anyone will give me anything other than flames at this point.

I may just do it by setting up a free hosting service and require the site owners to serve the ads and use affiliate links at first just to test the click ratios

And is there anything wrong with having 3 or 4 different sites, each doing major SEO and IM to bring in real money? Starting with 1 venture as what you hope to be a main cash cow and then starting another and another as you see time permitting for IM as each one grows and then levels off in revenue?

Because from what I am reading here revenues look like they start slowly building reach a peak and then tend to level off. A side from traffic spikes based on whatever niche your in. Which make since to me.

Instead of telling me I am clueless, how bout telling me where I am wrong in my plans and offer some actual advice.

thanks guys but I have made up my mind to try this although I have modified the idea so it can be run as an experiment with no $ risk to anyone but myself, if i see it picking up with will dedicate more time to it and then start charging for services.

will report back with results on this little project latter, hope it becomes a full time money maker down the road.

the naysayers have only made me want to do this more than before. so if i am a success i will owe it to them.

the only thing left is the script i found (and researched in detail) seems some think $250 is too cheap but again it was the most expensive one i found, if anyone else knows of one i like to look at it.

I personally think you need to do a bit more research and get actual experience in success in this area.

However, I would also love to see you prove us all wrong and post about your success on BHW when you do succeed.

Let the doubts of some of us BHW member fuel your need for success cause when you do, you are going to be extremely satisfied!

Getting publishers wont be such an issue, as far as i can think about it.
First you need to set up some banners to attract publishers on a few of the good webmaster forums, sites and blogs.
Next when they start publishing the ads, make sure they really get paid on a small interval of say like everyweek. That would help you biuld up your publishers list. You can change the payout frequency when you have a good number of publishers providing you good traffic/clicks.
