Just got this email from Paypal the other day and wondering if anyone else has gotten the same. Apparently if your account is in good standing they will not hold funds automatically if someone files a dispute. Welcome change IMO. Anyone else in this elite club?

Good on gaypal. Maybe they are starting to see that sellers need to be respected and not just the buyers. Ya, right!
Even though you got this email, dont expect them not to freeze your account for 180 days at the first issue lol

Good for you.....Hope to get similar email soon.I belive i rather get that one :

    Dear Someone Else,

We need your help resolving an issue with your account. To give us time to
work together on this, we've temporarily limited what you can do with your
account until the issue is resolved.

We understand it may be frustrating not to have full access to your PayPal
account. We want to work with you to get your account back to normal as
    quickly as possible.

    What's the problem?

We want to check with you to make sure that no one has logged in to your
    account without your permission.

Please take a moment to change your password and create new security
questions. You should also take a look at your account information and
recent transactions. Make sure that your account information (address,
phone number, etc.) hasn't changed and that you recognize all of your
    recent transactions.

If you see a payment that you don't recognize, let us know by going to the
Resolution Center. Click "Dispute a Transaction" to report an unauthorized
    transaction.

    Case ID Number: PP-------------------

    How you can help

It's usually pretty easy to take care of things like this. Most of the
time, we just need a little more information about your account or latest
    transactions.

To help us with this and to find out what you can and can't do with your
account until the issue is resolved, log in to your account and go to the
    Resolution Center.

    Yours sincerely,
    PayPal

I'm shocked I haven't received this, since I run all my transactions through PayPal and I probably only get one dispute per 200-300 transactions, all of which are either someone lying saying they didn't get something or a misunderstanding which is resolved and closed by the buyer before the end of the dispute. I have a business account and I do over $xx,xxx a month in incoming sales. Is your account having more activity or a better transaction to dispute ratio than mine or what? Can't seem to figure out why I haven't received an email like this?

That's interesting. I've never seen that message before. Hopefully Paypal is realizing that they can't continue to treat their sellers like crap. Paypal could be a good service if it was just run properly.

Just trying to think of a few factors that may have led to this new status.

Age of account - this account is approx 9 years old with thousands of transactions.
Business verified status - has been for almost as long as the account has been open.
Successful disputes - little or no successful disputes for the entire history of the account. I honestly do not recall ever losing a Paypal dispute as a seller but I have used this account for services and not products. Paypal rarely, in my experience, rules in favor of the customer for service related disputes. This is the opposite of what I hear from people selling physical products.
Sales volume - This has varied for me over the years but lately the incoming volume is around 20k annually. I imagine that there must be some minimum that they are looking at with business accounts.

Anyway, hope that helps and hopefully this is a good thing for those of us that rely on Paypal.
