New Pages

I have developed a script which will generate some 1 million pages. My fear is that Google will somehow penalise this many new pages. Is this a valid fear?

My option is to do is slowly so that maybe a few hundred or a few thousand pages are released at once.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

I think Google will penalize you if they were to index all the pages at one time. Of course, they won't index them all at one time. But to be safe, I would schedule them to be released at a much slower pace.

Depends what is on the pages. Something going from Zero to one million pages over night will look suspicious and will be flagged as such by the spiders. Could make it slower to index, being sandboxed, and may lead to a manual review. But if the site is ok content wise then it you have nothing to worry about - you are unlikely to get a google slap.

if you will do it to spam than google will definitely ban you site

but if the pages won't be the same (keywords ofcourse) - i don't think it wil harm your site...

though you need to try to do it nice and easy

YES

If it were as easy as that we'd all have multi-million page sites and be Rich.

If you have a new site with no significant backlinks then allowing google to see thousands of pages will raise a big red flag and may get you peanalised or banned.

It may depend on the quality of your content, and it may depend on a manual review. Generally Google does try to de-index script generated site, I know from personal experience.....
