Is it imminent? A number of sources are saying its going to happen December 2010, but it's 30th and so far nothing...

A lot of websites I've come across mention december 2010 as an "expected date". The last major update was in april 2010 apparently.

Pagerank matters when you've been stuck on 0 for months...

There's a pagerank update when all the kids of Digitalpoint are jumping around telling everyone their pagerank in the Google section of the digitalpoint forums. Check those forums now and then if you're done reading your spamfolder and are still bored...

These days PR is updated dynamically. I noticed update for some sites as quick as 3 weeks after site launch. In other words it doesn't seem to be updated for all sites at once at a specific date but in some sort of dynamic way.

I think its basically a case of "wait and see". Google are always working on their algo's and are constantly battling against spam sites trying to rank highly etc, so guessing when their next P.R update is like solving some long complex equation that is always changing (well I couldn't come up with a better way to explain it lol). Instead of spending all your time constantly thinking about the next P.R updates, spend that time creating content, doing on/off page seo, social networking, link building etc. Thats a better way to spend your time .
