It really depends on how you buy the expired domain, if you use some tools to check how many benefits will you have buying an expired domain. If you do not check maybe you are buying a banned domain, in that case, is not worth it. If you don't want to do research, buy a new domain

You have to be able to analyze SEO history and background of expired domain name.
If that is not the one which can be considered a kind of "toxic" domain name - go ahead and order it.

Expired domains for sure. But it is not easy to find a suitable expired domain.
