Hello, I decided to create my first niche site at the beginning of November.
Now after a while it's all set up and ready to go. Design, content, on page seo... etc.

it's been five days since I published my last piece of content, now I'm just waiting.
Currently, all my pages are correctly indexed in google.

Obviously, I know that I won't rank in the first page of google overnight and I also know that it all depends on the competition and many other reasons... but I have a few questions for you, as this is my first time trying to rank in google.

My plan was to wait until my site reaches a stable position, no matter where, in google, and then start a linkbuilding campaign.
But as I told you, I might be completely wrong so let me ask you a few questions...

>What should I expect, when will I see my site ranking for the keywords i target, even on the 30th page (with no backlinks )?
or better, when should I start to worry. I mean, if in 2 weeks I still can't see my site ranking for the keywords i target, would that be normal?
>Would you recommend waiting before starting a linkbuilding campaign (<that's my plan), or should I start now, building links slowly ?

Thanks for your help.

No backlinks, No rankings!

Except if its a super low competitive niche, and even than I still doubt it.

Start building links since right now and diversify.

I'm in the process of building my first niche site as well (in the first phases of it at the moment. not built and all) so I wish you the best and hope you update at least a little bit in the future.

That being said, since I haven't ever done a niche site myself take my advice with a grain of salt (but take some of it? I'm an seo at an agency so I have sooooooome adivce to give). You won't get rankings without backlinks or traffic. Those two can be chased separately though. What I intend to do is chase links not for their ranking power but for referall traffic. This may require you to get creative but probably easier than ranking right off the bat (unless you go black hat... don't do that with your first site.) Look around at your competitors and other sites in the industry, maybe somewhere you can develop a mutually beneficial relationship and write a unique guest post for them?

But like PrinceVisi said, no links, no rankings (and I'll add, no traffic) so don't wait.

Def. start building links now. I only wait 7 days from indexing to start building links. Just try to build PR links you have full control over incase something goes bad.

You can start building links now and also make sure you increase your social signals. Keep adding fresh
content to your website.

Concentrate on SEO from start.

Start building White Hat Manual High PR Backlinks and move on to Web 2.0 Properties.

start link building right away.Be careful link should be from reputed, high PR site and should be relevant to your niche.

Hold fire..... If your content is good enough your articles should be getting indexed in the top 100, I believe that you are right to wait and be precautions! A brand new site getting links straight away, especially high pr links is just not natural!

Start out really slow, get some social accounts set up, fb, twitter, g+, and link to your site. Then start to build a few contextual links, But DO NOT use the keyword you are trying to rank for (not yet anyway).

Just build natural links, the anchor should be your URL variations and generic terms. This looks totally natural. Don't worry about pr, low or is fine. Do this steadily and watch to see if your rankings improve, then gradually build some more. Throw in some keyword anchors and keyword variations.

people may tell you that links rank sites, but that's not entirely true, I've seen a lot of sites rank with little or no links!

also, the reason most people's sites get dropped is due to their unnatural and aggressive link building! So don't fall into that trap.

hope this helps, sounds like you are on the right track anyway

You are not going to see any rankings until you start building links to your website period.

Don't rush with the backlinks. After the website has been indexed, start building your backlinks slowly.

Start building back-links and you cant get higher rank soon. It will take 3 - 6 months to achieve stable 1st rank position if you start link-building from high quality blogs right now..
