I remember one of my friend who is good in php said that his client site was hacked from some OS cart script but they alert and installed security patch.

I guess new wordpress and other updated scripts like joomla or drupal will prevent all of us from these attacks.

there is always loophole when it comes to hacking. Wordpress/joomla/drupal constantly update their security features exactly because of this reason. Saying you are safe just because you are using the latest WP version is a bit naive. Just be careful guys. Redirect your wp-login folder and always have some offline backups
