Hello everyone. I've been doing websites my entire professional career and recently have been branching out on my own.

I have always followed traditional SEO techniques to promote my sites and shops but every day it's getting harder and harder to get traffic. So, I'm eager to try new things and learn from the community here.

Thanks bigbrothers. Sure, I can elaborate. Learned the ropes doing some intranet stuff at a bigger company. Now living abroad doing sites for local businesses. My expertise are entirely in a Microsoft environment with ASP (think that makes me a minority in web development).

Lately I've been setting up a few shops. I have access to cheap products here but trying to build a user base has been slow at best. Doing things traditionally has been such a huge commitment of time for minuscule gains. So, been interested in alternative ways to bring in the traffic.

Also, have to say that from what I've read so far and from this induction thread, people are actually welcoming and helpful here. Maybe I'm just too jaded.

Perfect, I will recommend few other ways from my learning.

A critical step in improving your shop's SEO is to find the best possible words to describe your shop and your items. Think like a shopper:- what words would you search when looking for your products or shop? It's pretty much basic only but I don't know whether you aware of it or not.

The exercise of selecting keywords is also helpful when you choose Tags for your item listings. And Your shop title will be the page title for your shop page. The page title is the text a person sees in the search engine that links to your shop. Do you know Search engines only show about 66 characters for a page title ?

Okay, there are plenty of guides to improve shop's traffic. I can recommend more methods, if I get detailed information about your shop.
