New Kid !! Tips?

Congratz!

Newborns are a lot of work on very little sleep. Get used to that and make sure you support your wife and try to take care of the baby as much as possible to give her a break. Trust me on this.

Just enjoy all the little moments. The lack of sleep can be tough but it's all worth it. Try to savor every moment you can.

Try not to feed the baby formula until I think it's around 6 months unless you like dealing with stomach problems. If the baby gets colic get mylicon drops or gripe water. They're a life saver. My son had colic bad and it wasn't until he was 6 months old that someone told me about it. It was a nightmare. I actually started getting sleep at that point.

Any ways, good luck!

I take care for my son in the night time so my wife can get some rest. He is 1,5 years old and i still cant sleep because his new teeths :)

Take lots of pictures and video and keep some of them in a safe deposit box. :)
Do you do IM full time? If you get sleep when you can and work when you can. Everything is more flexible.

i have twin daughters, age 3...I have to say, children are great, but the first year sucks :) You don't get any sleep. After that it gets easier. I suggest you do the cry-out method at about 6 months...where when they wake up crying at 11pm you just ignore them and tell them it's ok from the other room. Once they are able to get themselves back to sleep your life will be much easier.

Just be with your kid like a friend more than being a father. And make him proud of you like i do for my dad :)

Just wait when they turn two and get mobile and hostile. Still they can be a lot of fun when you give.

I dont know if I'd say do everything for them . They need to find their own way to a certain extent, but be involved go to their games, plays, school functions, ect. Ive coached my boys sports teams since they were 4 my oldest is playing football in highschool right now n scored his first td last night I was so proud I almost shit myself my 12 year old made the acedemic banquet this year and also plays baseball n basketball and hes been lurking here on bhw quite a bit...same deal but its an awesome journey...enjoy it and try not to miss any of it. good luck. Also its a good thing that you're coming here for advice instead of all those stupid fucking parenting books:)
