I briefly read over the white paper, and I think the underlying business idea is very good, they’re trying to allow people to buy real estate and provide more competition among to buyers buy allowing them to work through many agents. I think that this specific idea has a lot of potential to disrupt the market, however I’m unsure if long term the entire business on a crypto currency platform has potential.
First, I’m unsure as to what the token will actually accomplish. Long term, I don’t expect small coins like this to survive because I see a huge redundancy in haveing to convert coins from this one to that one in order to be in different markets (ex going from InsuranceCoin to RealEstateCoin). That point comes with a bias, personally I think only a few top coins will survive to really disrupt the financial institution, and I have a feeling they are already in circulation. As far as this specific token, I don’t see why you would need or want a specific token when transactions like this on are already being performed just by using the ethereum smart contracts (google “Vermont Real Estate Ethereum”, sorry I can’t post links).
My second worry for this coin, is how long it will take for a concept like this to really catch on. While there’s certainly money to be made in the real estate space, every few years we get slammed by interest rates rising/bubbles/housing price decline, and the real estate economy trims out the dead weight. Is this type of idea going to catch on as the markets go through a decline? Or is this type of product going to need a strong bull market for investors and consumers to give it a try?
Overall I stay away from the ICO speculation space. It’s a space that without inside information, it’s a tough game to play. Especially with the many scams and shady stuff going on... anyways, Yes, this coin *could* 100x+ your money, as many coins do. But it’s more likely to not provide returns in the short term. If investing in it to get your feet wet in the ICO space interests you, then dive in head first. If you’re a crypto newb though, I strongly suggest you focus on bigger coins and try to build a network of contacts in the crypto space that either have inside info, or can provide more insight into why a coin like this will catch on than a bunch of people on a forum. To me, that sounds like a much more sustainainable and fruitful long term plan. Then again, it’s also a lot more work...
Side note: I’m glad to see a new person interested in crypto, and I hope your curiousity keeps you learning and involved in such a great opportunity!
