Tell me if this idea has been done or why it wouldn't work?

Build a forum or classified site with a branded.com or .net name and allow anyone to advertise for free. Let people spam the heck out of the forum.
You would have alot of traffic and and alot of people signing up to advertise for free. Write about 3 articles about the site and your plans for it or why your different than other sites. The forum could be niche specific to get targeted traffic or make it a broad topic say"making money online"

The owner could have this linked to other sites he owns and gain pr ranking.

You could allow every type of advertising imaginable from adult to products.

Then sell advertising space at the top of the page where the most traffic on the forum exist.

Once the site is ranked and running consistently sell the site on sedo. The deal with the new owner would be back-links to all your sites.

You could even CS the site before you sell it.

Rinse and repeat.

good idea mate, but as with any website, especially forums, you have to get traffic and active members. I mean after all, I know I only want to advertise/spam on forums that have a lot of traffic. This is a good idea but it sounds more like a major project and there are lots of other things one could do to make just as much money or even more.

I believe if it was niche specific it would be easy to do. I know ways to get traffic quick from reading this forum alone and the services offered here.

I was just curious if there was an actual forum that was made for this purpose or if someone has even tried it.

I know with most forums they don't allow this. It would be the only one I know of that it's purpose would be for spamming. I would think but don't quote me on this, if it was the only one on the internet specifically designed for this purpose that it would be unique and therefore get lots of traffic using certain keywords...

Just an idea I had but haven't tried it and wanted to get BHW members thoughts and ideas about it.

It would work like the scam site theory for driving traffic. Except you would use a spam theory to draw the attention instead of scam...If that makes since.

I think I will do this as a side project and see how it goes I will report weekly findings

hahahaha.... thats the problem with having no confidence in an idea!!! If you ask for advice on something and it is a cracking idea, you can garuntee that someone will will jump straight on the wagon and give it ago!!

abit like the G00G!E 10/100 they are running..... you tell us your idea and we will do it and you will get nothing!! I wonder how many suckers put forward ideas for that!
