Hey everyone. I came across BHW a few weeks ago and have been lurking on and off. I love to see how much knowledge this community has and the shared entrepreneurial ethos throughout the community.
I'm in my early 20s, in college, but greatly ambitious and entrepreneurial. I see lots of opportunity in so many different "niches" and I guess I'm hoping to learn more about the different niches here through people that already are in them, so I can figure out what to narrow down and focus on. For instance, I see lots of value in creating NFT projects that have some sort of utility, I've also been interested in doing social media marketing, and lately, I've been intrigued by e-commerce. I just know I can't split my time between all of these different ideas, I need to focus on one thing at a time to see growth. I just don't know how to pick or figure out what's most worth my time. Lately, it feels like e-commerce makes the most sense because I don't have to depend on anyone else (NFTs, SMM, etc. seem strongly reliant on forming partnerships to develop synergy), I can just get started with an Amazon (or other platforms) account and invest in a data platform like Helium10 or whatever, or at least that's how it seems to me so far. I also feel like everyone around me is less motivated than me, I'm a college student so most of my friends my age are all about partying and having fun and whatever the fuck. I've tried to go into business with some, but I always end up feeling like I'm the one pushing the most weight. Few people out there are actually willing to skip out on social events and stay home grinding. Everyone is more than happy to dream about stuff but no one is willing to put in the work. I'm hoping I can come across more people that like to work hard to see the results they're after and to build the life that they want to be living.
Any advice from you guys on how to pick a niche and stay focused would be really appreciated. There's the age-old concept that you need to do what you love, but I love seeing results, and different niches (at least from my impression of them) have different levels of speculation and therefore unique risk/reward structures as well as timelines (e.g., short term results vs. long-term speculative projects that can either go to shit or explode, but only one way to find out).
