The biggest challenge in website monetization is declining traffic, unpredictable ad revenue, and AI reducing website visits.

Welcome to BHW. As someone has said above, yes, one of the biggest challenges is your traffic going down randomly without you even being prepared for it. If traffic goes down, your clicks go down, which is directly proportional to revenue going down as well.

Apart from that, you should always stay abreast of the situations and think of getting a high-search-volume, well-researched article on your post, day in, day out (without having to wait for that moment when traffic will be down). In that case there will always be something to cover up for it
