I know this question has probably be answered 100 times. But can anyone please explain to me in laymen terms what clickbank is about and how it works? I've been to the site itself but it's not very clear. I have my own website and looking for ways to monetize it. I got the simple stuff like googleadsense, amazon associates , and adbright ads going. But I'm looking to make more then a few bucks. Ive seen claims of people making 10k a month. I'm no sucker and I would never believe numbers like that unless I saw them for myself. As nice as it would be I would settle for ALOT less then 10k a month. So please anyone plz help me. You can post here or just send me a private message. Thanks everyone.

Clickbank is like amazon but for digital products. You pick a product to promote and when someone buys through you, you get a a percentage.
The percentage you get for digital products is much higher than the one you get for physical products because there's no manufacturing cost.
So instead of promoting an amazon product and getting 8%, you can promote the ebook Truth About Abs and get 75%.
The downside with promoting digital products is that it's much more difficult to find long tail keywords to rank for in the search engines.

I don't mean to be an ass, but GimmeMoney will be here for the next 3 months answering such general questions.
LOL. Sorry I'm not very computer literate. My friend has pretty much had to walk me through the process of making a website. Actually I never would have made it pass buying a domain name without him helping me. I'll probably ask him about it but I don't think he knows about it. Otherwise he probably would have recommended it already. Also I think answering a question about what a long tail keyword is would be simple. All I'm asking for with my second question is do you place an ad on your site or are there other ways? Because putting an ad banner on my site is the only thing I know how to do.

If your main keyword was "Search Function", an Example of a long tail keyword would be: "People Who Don't Use Search Function"
Yes, that is one of many ways you can promote a product.

I'd use the same skills you used to find BHW to learn how to use the search function! People can be pretty helpful here but not necessarily when information is being demanded by someone who has 4 posts.
To help answer one of your questions: you can use a banner ad for clickbank, a text link or you can even build a separate website to promote the product or products you're interested in.
You might want to look through the download area to find a course about CB... there are a lot of them you can study.
Yea. I think I tried to make it very clear I wasnt very computer literate. Yes I only have 4 posts and that's because I'm a new user. I will try my best to use and figure out the search bar but I figured it'd be alot easier to just have my own post with the answers. That's all. But thanks for the answers you have provide. My friend finally came back and explained it a little better to me. Thanks again all.

If you're not very computer literate as you say, I think maybe your best bet is to start brushing up on those skills before you start looking at affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing will need you to have a good understanding of how a computer and the internet/google works, along with basic understanding of html etc. Start investigating how you can get better at those before you delve into a world of links, backlinks, hosting and code - otherwise any advice here is going to go right over your head, and any question answered will just need you to ask 5 more basic ones in response.

Well I already have a multi page website with all my adsense and such going and several affiliate accounts already. My site has only been up since 4Dec2011 and it's already ranked 8.3 million on Alexia. So I must be doing something right LOL. Thankfully my friend is very smart and has been teaching me alot of stuff about SEO and such.

First off, 8.3 million on Alexa* is not exactly very high.
Secondly, if you think anyone making decent money from IM is going to spoonfeed you, with no contributions to this community whatsoever, their methods for making money you are greatly mistaken.
This forum is a gold mine if you would take a minute to read it.
