I requested information awhile back from Godaddy on the new Gtlds and they put me on some mailing list and I just got an email saying that the domains are coming very soon.

You can login to your account and watch the extensions you want since they won't be coming out all at once. They should send you an email when the landrush comes for the extensions you choose:

Cheers for the heads up. I can't imagine I'll buy any (still like my .COMs), but it will be good to see how things progress.

There are many new gtlds coming soon. I think gtlds like .shop, .store, .baby are good choices.

Put some on watch, as while I don't see them as that good, I might have some plans in the future...

But all the good names are captured by registrar and big domain name investor before it comes to the public.

True most will be, but not all of them. I doubt you will get cheap.insurance but if you are prepared the day they start to open then you can snatch some good ones for sure.

Also, if people want to get their name or local domains to sell (like detroit.bakery) then that will be a great time to do it.

700+ extensions is retarded. This is going to be a sh#t storm.

Also, if you own a brand, trademark it now...

I think it's terrible to have that many. But since they are might as well make some money off of it.

Agree 100%...just sucks that companies will have to spend more money just to protect their brand/image...and many companies will spring up and try to profit from it. Lawyers will be kept very busy firing off C&D letters around the clock.
