New Google Update?

Looks like Google engineers are just doing any changes to show some work so that they stay on the payroll. This Panda update is so stupid that my sites which I had not touched in last 4-5 months have started ranking on page #1 and my high quality sites updated regularly with unique content linked regularly from contextual web 2.0s have lost 30-40 positions. Panda updates have become a joke. Is Matt Cutts listening?

Yeh my EMD's have gone down, and other non-emd's up. Could be on to something there.

one of my sites (emd) goes up to #1 last night. backlinks only 10 web 2.0 and bookmarks...

Yep, I'm seeing major changes as well.

Still diving into the data, but one of the first things I'm noticing are the sites that have been hit the hardest are rather thin. Anyone else notice this at all?

I'm seeing the opposite. It seems the thinnest of sites are ranking the best on most of my keywords. My sites are multiple hundred pages worth of content respectively with hundreds of facebook likes constantly growing, 5-10 new visitor comments a day etc...

i am seeing 60% decrease in my site traffic
one of my new MNS site was on first page now in 3rd :(
other site also gone down
i hate this

but still i would work hard to overcome it now :)

The site of mine hit had 300+ pages of 500+ word hand written content,
So no....

The only thing I can think of is HighPR society from back in February is responsible for this ... somehow... The site was already hit back in Feb, so I thought it was over,
I was able to recover the site about 90% of its original rankings and now a lot of the terms are not in the top 300 results ....
This is a PR5 site.

I am very, very lucky I had been going in a different direction since Feb, and built out keyword specific sites (all of which have been just fine by the way).
This site is toast on google seemingly, so I'm going to finish ranking it in Yahoo/bing and move it into the top 5 over there... I will just build out traffic funnels for google.

Not sure what google's motivation was for this move, as all I'm seeing are piss poor results across the board.
It is now extremely easy for me to create a domain, age it a month and rank it on the 2nd page of a highly competitive term via bots I have, and then blast it with high PR links driving it to the first page for 1-2 months.
This is the new plan... looks like spam is back once again.

This is a LOT easier to do than trying to rank a site with quality links and content.

Good post , what bots are you using and what do they do .

My traffic is actually higher believe it or not. xD

All of my traffic driving sites gained ranks... my PR5, 2 year old site with around 200k Web 2.0s, 3000 or so high PR comments and tons of private blog network links (about 400 guestposts) is what dropped from the top 20 to 200+ on a few keywords.

Still absolutely nothing in webmaster tools.

Good post , what bots are you using and what do they do .

I have about 200 account creation/posting bots for web 2.0s made, along with a tool that I've been working on that digs out d0follow comments.
If you drop a few thousand tier 1 web 2.0s, you'll be on the 3rd or so page of even the most competitive niches. From there are you have to do is shove out 1000+ high PR blogposts and you'll be page one for awhile, not sure exactly how long yet (well over a month generally). I started 10 keyword specific sites for this purpose a few weeks ago when I saw how easily this worked now.

Previously, to do this, you needed 5000+ high PR posts, and your site wouldn't even last a month at the top. Definitely not the case now.

Another observation. The homepage of my EMDs have dropped, and traffic has dropped by a third. But click throughs have gone UP, from around 25 to around 40% So that suggests to me that when people do arrive at one of my pages, they've actually found what they were looking for. So google has overnight succeeded in delivering exactly what they say they want to do, more relevant links!!! my earnings remain the same so far, but time will tell.
