Interesting that the sites that are ranking now are using 100% blog comments (for no PR pages)
I don't think the above is correct at all.
Perhaps you didn't imply it in your post but I'm curious:
What kind of links do you build to take over 5-6MM/yr niches? If blog comments, web 2.0s, private blog networks (almost all sites using them in any capacity were hit) and such don't work?
Clearly bookmarks don't work either (tested it extensively and created scripts for a lot of the major d0follow ones)
I still have yet to receive any "messages" in any of my WMTs by the way. So the penalty in this case appears to be entirely algorithmic?
Post-february changes my approach has been totally different on pulling traffic out of a very competitive niche, but I have yet to ever see anything that indicated google was after web 2.0 sites.

Yup,same here.I was fine until today.3/4 of my sites moved down 20-30 spots...and I've never used a blog network,ever.

Google has been doing this since they started out.in 2002 I had a adult blogspot blog running AFF on it and got very little traffic.then for 2 days straight it went viral and I earned $1800 from AFF which they screwed me out of.in 2008 another domain that was a .info went viral for 1 day and I earned about $300 in one day.but both sites went back to normal afterwards.so it's no new thing for google to do this.

me thinks the same. he did say about an error regarding parked domains. So maybe this is the real upgrade. Didn't lose any rankings here too. Hopefully won't lose much.
They are really starting to screw up. With millions going down the drain, it would be better to spend few hundred thousands and take care of cunts. :fencing:
I read the "Site gone? Google Update?" thread and see that many sites got slapped few days ago and got back to normal yesterday.
However i've just got hit to day, most of keywords was in page 1 now dropped few positions. Traffic decreased 40%

Really confused. One of my sites that i have hardly ever backlinked and gets average 500 UV/day, today (after only 10 hours) already has over 1000 UV.
I really think they are penalizing heavily backlinked sites.

They're always dicking about with their search results, why the fuck can't they stick to one thing. I am starting to think they just bullshit to keep us all confused. Like this Panda thing, a content farm algorithm of some abashed sorts, yet I still see eshit.com ranking not one but sometimes 3 listings for a query and about.com *slightly less so. But. Their results are no better. Now they have fucking mugshots plastered all over it, looks ridiculous! Oh well let's spam mugshits all over it son! $$$$
I really hope this is just another bugged mistake update because from my end, and from the sounds of most of the replies end quality sites have dropped being replaced by trash. Litterally 95% of the keywords I was after (over 200) have all seen the top 3 spots taken over by thin, ad heavy, poor content, low backlinked MFA sites.
Is that the new FOTM?
I pay upwards of $20 per 500 word article and stick to purely white hat backlinking with extremely highly optimized anchor text, titles and content. I literally can not find a better quality site with better content for a visitor that has now passed me in this recent update.

all my websites are stable...no problem yet...
Out of interest, are your domains EMD. I depend heavily on EMD sites, and they all seem to have dropped. I wonder if Google's preference for EMD's have gone. Anyone?
