Search spam is when you are doing too many searches and google pops captcha.

It won't. They're just going to penalise a certain percentage of affiliate sites to make it look like it's working.

Not the way Google sees it. To Google, search spam is anything you do to manipulate the algorithm, e.g. unnatural links, keyword stuffing, redirects, doorway pages, etc.
