New Google Search... Thoughts?

So google has changed it's search page delivering results as each character is typed in... I don't like it at all. BUT I did notice that the Hints it is giving now are very locally oriented first, then popular sites second.

There has to be a way to exploit this. It seems as though the have given us a new tool for local search keywords. Telling us what is the most popular locally...

Any ideas, or am I on the wrong path with my thinking of this change?

And I almost forgot... This seems to screw the results for those trying to SEO for someone in another geo location. What's the best work around for that. I mean, if I have a client in North Carolina and I'm in Ohio, when I look at the search results for his site it's in a different position than when he sees it.

I'm just learning to SEO so maybe there is a system for this... If anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
 
The search results are probably better for the user but bad for the IM. If they are typing in a long tail keyword, there is a good chance that they are going to get distracted with all the results.

I think there will be a sizable change in long tail keyword searches if this goes on.
 
Too many threads about this, can't they all be consolidated or something?

big G also prioritize the search results, that's why the hints are given for local sites first. I think from the google point of view they are doing good but this may effect on famous web sites results in search engine.
 
Why is everyone reacting like this is just happening? Google has been doing this (at least for me) for over half a year...

Very true. I'd like to note i don't care what google shows me before I finish typing in what I'm typing. Maybe some of these billions of people are the same as me and you have nothing to worry about.

my first though was the same. i though this is present for long time (a few months)
