Looks like google local is getting a lot more important, this is the first time Ive seen this new layout...local results first with huge images with a bold black background. Are they testing this look out? I have only seen it for one query...

Still haven't seen such here.. maybe they are being tested on particular regions only yet

I saw this too. I didn't like it for SEO reasons, but honestly... it's a lot more efficient in terms of use of space. I was only able to trigger it with certain types of searches "bar", "brewery", "hotels", "restaurant", etc. Didn't work with others though.
