Hello my comrades. I don't know how long this feature has been live, but I've only just noticed it now. Google appears to be generating applications with AI that match search terms.

So, for example, this character counter is AI generated.

That's pretty cool.

Yes, this is the new feature for searches related to "character counter" in AI overviews. One more category of websites related to character counter got a new competition in terms of direct AI Overviews and AI Mode user interface. This means reduced clicks from organic searches as there will be an increase in zero-clicks searches from AI Overviews and AI Mode interface.

That is actually cool and useful for the user, but would be another method Google intends to kill so many tools out there. There are many simple tools people rely on to solve little problems here and there. They're usually monetized with ads.

Now that Google is beginning to build their replacements on the go, they'll stop getting traffic. The exact same way information sites stopped getting traffic as a result of Google's AI overview.

These days I'm not excited by things like these because of the overall impact.

This is pretty cool, google is clearly expanding ai generated features directly into search for simple tasks like this, it will be interesting to see how many similar utilities move from standalone websites into google itself

Pretty cool actually, also their Gemini is creating applications for me when i ask to write a blog post outline

i don't see it on my end
how to activate?
There isn't really a switch for that specific tool. Google says the generative UI is already available globally in English inside AI Mode, while it's still rolling out in AI Overviews, so you might simply not get the same thing in the normal search results yet

Try the same query in AI Mode first. Search Labs can give earlier access to some experimental AI Mode features too, but it won't force that exact card to show up
