@coyoteassasin - here's my take. Godaddy is selling these at a loss assuming that you will stick with them for multiple years. I take advantage of every rock bottom Godaddy promotion I can, and then transfer to Namecheap when they come up for renewal. This causes a loss on all my transactions with Godaddy, thus doing my part against SOPA. lol.
