Hi everyone, I've launched a new gaming forum and need some help. I have only two active members on the site but would love thousands, as would others, presumably. Can anyone share tips to get the word out on my forum? I have been getting a steady increase of search engine traffic everyday recently according to webmaster tools, so I'll hope that goes well.

Any ideas? Thanks guys!

Keep posting on your forum or use fake member generator, its look like your forum have more members.

Hey,
At the beginning of internet marketing, a lot of people want to start a forum, in fact I started several way back and failed.
Forums are NOT easy , getting members is not easy. The gaming niche is already hard, and there are a TON of forums on it.

Tell me; Why would they use YOUR forum instead of the most popular ones like GameSpot, IGN, PCGamer etc? :) You have to offer something unique on your forum, they won't just migrate without a proper reason to a forum with lower members, lower activity, etc.

Go into other gaming forums and blogs and tell people about your new forum, post cheat codes and walk thought of latest games.

For a tough market like this, I'd participate in all the top gaming forums & drop a link in your sig.

sig advice will help. But needs tons of post. Like articles post and then people replying also fake amount of people on the forum.

as few people are saying about sig.
go to the top 5 gaming forums and search for people with 500 or more posts, there will be thousands for them.
Talk with at least 25-30 people and tell them about adding your forum link/banner in their sig. Many will convince, if not them lure them about some latest games or something
Just repeat this for other forums

also just keep posting tons of QUALITY posts in your forum
add a downloads section for maps, cracks etc which allows user to register before they can see links/download

Really informative guys, thanks a ton. I have an old gamespot account with like 1000 posts, so I'll go revive that and give it a shot. Thanks a ton for your help!
Also, does anyone know how I can improve my landing page? It's very tacky at the moment lol. Are people will to design one in exchange for their name and a link back to them, do you know?

whats your forum? I could give u some pointers, i've ran countless forums and still do. You need to give people a reason to stay on ur forum and make content for ur site for the most part. It can be difficult if you don't have something they need & or want to talk about.

have you started this forum yet? I run gaming website looking for partners link exchange

You might want to try a sites like PostLoop or Microworkers to get the forum populated for very cheap in the beginning.

Give what your members like, or maybe you could join gaming facebook pages and share your forum links on them..

Do you have any experience in creating blogs and article sites and making them popular? How many years you have been into internet marketing? These questions would help you in proceeding further if you are just planning to start a new forum or just started one and are still unsure about it.
But if you are sure and have got the spirit to make it go viral, then I would suggest you to read this article since it has got some really cool tips which would help you in the long run in building a popular forum:

Maybe you can do a giveaway?
Like, to members with 30-50 posts and above.

How does that sounds?

This could definitely work, but what do I give away? A free copy of the game?
