Cityville has reached crazy numbers on FB and is the most played game on FB with over 90 Million Monthly active players.

Is it still good to get in this? I'm thinking of offering cheats and guides and any twists i can find to make money form this pie. what do you think?

    :D

Yeah sure you can make some $ if you have the right twist, 90mil is a crap load of traffic if you can (somehow) take advantage of it.

Easy method: Create a tips and tricks ebook + sales page. Se up an ad and target so only players on cityville see it and use app targeting so it shows up while they're playing.

With that kind of market, now is as good of a time to get in as ever.
Get around 20 or so profiles and add all of them to those facebook adder sites that are used for gaming. Then just send messages and wall posts convincing people to buy your product. Or you can just rehash an ebook if you can't create a good one. Then put it behind a gateway.

how is cityville not like farmville? That's the dumbest comment I have seen in awhile.

Cityville is now the most popular game EVER and growing.

Do your research before making comments like this. I was doing some quick research and quickly saw that people aren't addicted to this game , unlike farmville users are.

    1. Its not popular on YouTube , many videos seem to be from marketers pumping views & comments they made themselves and the legitimate videos don' t have that many views.

    2. Nobody is advertising it on adwords when im searching for cityville related keywords on Google.

    3. the few blogs and articles that come up seem to have only a tiny amount of traffic since compete.com tells me they don't have data for them.

Your right when you say that cityville is very popular and growing , theres news about it all over the place.

( go on techcrunch , they explain well the mega overnight succcess this game was.)

However people dont seem to be addicted to it like they were on farmville , they only want to play it.They wont go out and start google searches for hacks , ebooks , game playing tips and forums with many users etc..

Well, I'm stuck on this I guess. Seemingly a lot of intelligent people are saying these isn't money in this. So, I'm confused.

The game remains relatively new, and people haven't started to explore the monetization venues. I'm guessing some folks in this thread have some ideas of their own.

I'd encourage you to pursue it despite everything that has been said here, as quite frankly - everyone is wrong. There is BIG money to be made in this niche.

    Good luck!

Do you have first-hand experience to back that claim?

It seems that very new game Zynga releases it's going to be a goldmine. Frontierville, now Cityville...

I mean, you may be right. I don't know.

All I know is that a few months ago I managed to get on the first spot of Google for the kw "frontierville cheats". I did it without big expectations, I wanted to see how hard it was and how much money

As it turned out, the most competitive kw I could find, I guessed, was quite easy. I was targetting only that kw and was getting about 700-1000 UV a day from that. A crappy article and a direct link to a guide was making me a sale every 400-500 hops (making a sale a day on average, profiting 75% of a product that was going for $25).

My monetization was shitty, obviously. The niche seemed weak to me, so I didn't bother too much. I broke even quite quicky (i spent like 100 dollars for everything) and was making a few bucks without hassle, so it wasn't bad, after all.

Then a couple of weeks later I did something that resulted in kicking in the Google Dance and it has been dancing somewhere on Google ever since. At least, now I know what not to do if I want to avoid this outcome in the future, without losing much.

I'm actually pondering to go and get the first spot for "cityville cheats" or something and then flip the site. But dunno.

What's your experience with -ville games guides niche?

LOL what are you saying. use the google keyword tool , cityville only has 6 000 searches per month , the rest of cityville related keywords are so unpopular they dont even show up in the keyword tool

Google Key Tool is not up-to-date and you can't rely on it for trending kws . If people have just started to search for new kws, it will take some time for the tool to display them.

I really think people may be missing something here. I understand that demand is key to your success, so don't be too put off by my questions.

90 Million Players, who all "discovered" the game how? Most likely via direct friend invitations, but it has caught on fast, and people like it. So, nobody is looking for cheats right now, or guides, etc... But they are looking at the game.

There is already a testimonial that a poorly developed campaign around a similar niche - frontierville - was profitable though mildly so. I'm guessing a well developed approach that encompasses the actual process through which most people get invited is a great angle to go - you can read that to say that if you could develop an app that not only invites users to the game, but also does ... "Figure it Out" - you could probably make a lot of money.

The searches will come in time as people advance to the higher levels in the game. You have assumed relatively early that a lack of advertisers, and keyword demand indicates no market. Wrong. The problem is with short-sightedness, and making assumptions about future demand.

    I leave it at "Money."

Oh yeah, and how about a Macros-based autobot to manage your city? Probably nobody is going to want that anytime soon.

So I've tried this for a couple of weeks, trying to see if it actually works. I've been in the Farmville business quite a while, and my bank account loved it. Cityville on the other hand is waaaaaay different! As someone else already stated, most traffic comes from India and the Philipines. Though 90 million seems alot, it's not. Looking back to Farmville on my "normal FB acc" most of my US friends would play it. Almost 80%. Cityville? Not even 0,1% of my American friends play it. Most of the money I made from Farmville came from the US campaigns. So Cityville is a bad niche right now. I'm not saying there won't be succes in the near future, but for now it's not profitable if you are running US campaigns.

I hope I helped some of you guys out!
