So I got two emails today from people on my contact lists that look like this. I'm obviously not going to post the link cause I'm pretty sure it's a virus, but it's clever.

nothing has ever come easy to me I thought I had tried everything this came at perfect timing for me...
(link) im finally back in the swing of things try it out for yourself
    friends help friends!

    and

nothing has ever come easy to me it was important for me to stay positive this was my opportunity knocking at the door!
(link)this is proof that miracles do exist think about it
    Keep this a secret!

The thing is about this spam though that it was different. The emails came from friends of mine who probably don't have control of their accounts anymore and the email wasn't a huge mass chain either but rather sent to four people at a time.

Does anyone know this kind of script/bot/email marketing tool/virus that's going around right now?

Usually I'm not fond of people posting ongoing marketing campaigns on an open forum, but (sorry, had to throw that disclaimer in).....

Yeah, get those daily. Nothing new, those kind of messages have been out on the market for over two years now.

Thats Botnet spam, at its finest!

I am surprised that those techniques actually work. I get some ridiculous ones at times, but I guess there are always dumb people to take advantage of. Oh well :p

Well I guess it's cause of the people that they know that are sending them out. They didn't land it my spam folder so it was one of the more interesting pieces of IM.
