New Domain Indexed But Nowhere To Be Seen

Hi guys,

I got a new domain in a low comp niche and it has been two weeks and the site is indexed but not ranking anywhere for this low comp KW. I then checked the history and it was dropped before but there are no backlinks to it. Could it be that it was penalised before and then dropped? I am not expecting it to be on page 1 but usually in these sort of low comp niches it appears on page 3/4 after indexing.

I can move the site to a new domain the only problem is the content is indexed in Google just not ranking. Is it OK to move to new domain or will it be seen as duplicate content? I will delete the old site in cpanel but Google still holds on to sites for a long time after they're gone.

All ideas welcom?

If the domain was not spammed or have clean history in the past then there is nothing to worry. I think 2 weeks time is too less to judge.

Throw Some social signals, Social bookmarks and few Web 2.0 links pointing to your site slowly for next couple of weeks. Make sure your webpage is targeting that Low comp. Keyword with proper On Page optimization.

I have this 3 year old Authority site and 2 weeks ago i published a new piece of content targeting low competition Keyword. Its been more than 2 weeks now and its still no where to be found in top 300 results. This has happened to me earlier and i am sure it will jump to page 3 or 4 if not higher than that.
 
Give it more time ...... publicise your website ..... promote on different platforms ..... i think after doing that you will get a decent ranking
 
I launched a new site recently. It got indexed after a week or two but didn't rank anywhere for anything until a month after launch, then search console started showing keyword rankings all at the same time. I guess that's what google are doing with new sites now.
 
Thanks for the advice. it's been 12 days now and the KW is so low competition that I really think it should be in the top 10 pages somewhere at this stage. I will give it a few more days but might get another domain and throw some content on it and see if it appears somewhere. I will update if there is any change.
 
Just an update on this...site is still not ranking anywhere for this low comp KW. Added it to WBT's and not errors or anything. Sites on page 1 have basically no links...very confused..
 
No I just added 1 strong link from a powerful domain I own and a few niche related blog comments is all. It should be in the top 5 pages even without any links as it is very low comp..could it be the wordpress theme?

Why the wordpress theme? Your site is indexed.

I would invest more if i were in your position and wait more. Try forgetting it for a while. Build another one.
 
Yeah usually I would but I can't stress out low competition this is lol so very annoying!

Not really an expert but i think this would be possible in 2013-2014. Times have changed.
 
It is not 2013 anymore dude, even extremelly low competition keywords is taking at least 1 month to rank if you are luck, average ir 2-4 months to rank.

I have a 8 month old website which all the terms were on second page in 1 week! But guess what ? Took 4 months to get to position 1 and/or 2
