Delta plus: Thousands of new coronavirus variant cases confirmed in UK

Thousands of new cases of the so-called "Delta plus" coronavirus variant have been
recorded in the UK in the past week. Government figures published on Friday showed
that 7,521 more people were infected with the AY4.2 variant in the week up to
27 October, the latest date for which data is available. This was second only to the original
Delta variant which saw 57,411 new reported cases.
This brought the total of confirmed or probable cases of Delta plus to 28,667 across the
UK, 21,158 of which were in England.

The news strengthens suggestions that the strain is more transmissible than the original Delta
variant from which it has mutated. While the strain is currently still a VUI (Variant Under
Investigation) there are fears it could become a Variant Of Concern (VOC) if rapid transmission continues.

WAIT FOR IT

this new variant has allowed researchers to work on a new booster / vaccine to combat
the new strain, so just in time to make some more money ? SO almost time for another
booster / vaccine to go with the first vaccine and 2 boosters already.
work has already begun on a modified version of the Oxford vaccine to target the Delta coronavirus variant.

@proxygo let's open a Covid Test LAB, We are going to be billionaires by now.

maybe they can't remotely upgrade the firmware so they come up with new 'booster' shots.

Also, this is closely becoming doomsday (2008).

Delta+

Is Apple naming them now?

Whats next?

Delta Pro

Tl;dr; sounds yummy. Hopefully I will live through that and plus plus plus variant as well.

Here in UK, I still can't believe I can still go clubbing without vaccine passport

I was expecting this
:D

Don't worry, they now have a "Magic pill" that apparently cures COVID by 90% :anyway:
