This could (potentially) be huge trouble for those who rely on autoblogs for their revenue from Adsense and others.

Good news is that this might not get implemented due to publishers not agreeing on terms or whatnot, and if it does, it'll probably take a long time to do so. Oh, and there's the whole "rewriting" thing. However, it definitely would shake things up a bit.

interesting story you have come across!

the issue of proving you have a 100% unique article in the first place could be the thing that locks it all up. I am sure that some of the whiners that started this are all generating 100% unique content

on top of that? what if the person that clicked on the ad is a regular 'subscriber' to your blog/site? thet are there because of you not the article on that page.

or what if you write an article and some bot decides it is some percent similar to a consortium member's article, and you lose or have to share the ad income?

all sounds like BS, trying to take in money that was never theirs in the first place.

Oh c'mon why would Google wanna do this. If google will to implement such policy, there will be less publisher, which leads to less revenue. I don't see why they would bother with such debate.

If google profits from autoblogs there is no issue.

I don't see what's the fuss about. Publishers always whine about something, but they cannot understand that technology is limited and that simple rewrites can skew things greatly. IF they want to limit access to their content - fine. There will be always ordinary people rewriting their articles, and us bh's taking RSSs from those ordinary people (or outsourcing it all)

I don't see where the problem is, if you're re-writting the feed thus generating unique content ... unless Wordpress or the used advertising platform implements some sort of code inside the generated posts via RSS - that shouldn't be too big of a problem either beucase it could easily be removed - so basically they've got squat.
