New channel or save old?

Hi! I have question for you. I have a YouTube channel with about 160,000. subscribers.
Unfortunately, my views per movie are less than 500. The channel was about children, I just played games with a commentary.
I had a long break from uploading movies and most of my audience just grew up.

Youtube does not recommend my videos so I have no way of reaching new viewers.
Is it possible to somehow save this channel or is it better to start with a new one?
If it can be saved, how? What should I do?

I have the same issue. my 43k youtube channel is basically dead now.. made this account in 2011 but I didn't take any breaks like you and for 10 years I'm uploading on average 3 videos per week.
but for the past year, I get on average 500-800 views per video. I decided to open a new youtube account today! fuck the youtube algorithm I worked so hard for 10 years straight. gotta move on!

Depends on what you new content will be like. If it totally contrasts your current content then you might as well create a new channel because viewers who are attracted to one type of video may visit your channel and see that you have other topics that don't interest them, leading to a lack of growth. Why not grow both with different content? Look up the videos in your channel that are still gaining views and add some pinned comments saying "check out your latest videos" and add an end screen graphic with suggested videos/playlists.

Check your analytic for two things first. 1. The views from subscribers. 2. Subscribers gained recently (in the last few months). If the number is decent, it is worth it to continue even with new niche.

Don't worry if it's not relevant with the current niche. As long as your thumbnail is catchy, your CTR will be good. As long as your content is "interesting", your Retention will be good as well. Don't forget CTA to get any engagement.

What really matter here is your existing "history" and audience. But bear in mind that the traction will be low. But it's better than starting with no base at all. Just keep rebuild it, the hardest part is to get into the initial "brackets".

If YouTube does not recommend your video than you need to check the videos all again.
Is there any copy right strike.
Did you copy content? Do you know why YouTube is not recommending the videos.

Did they sent any mail inbox?
I always recommend to use old YouTube account rather than the new YouTube account.

if you want to start making different content, it's better to start a new channel
