I am thinking to start a platform to sell websites.

It will have websites with revenues ( both through ads and affiliate) , starter websites , other type of web properties.

In the beginning, should I target selling it locally through advertisements to people starting online work or I should focus on people already having experience in this field?

If you feel that such an idea is useless, please share input regarding that also.

Good business idea !

If you can beat Flippa, Empire Flippers, FE International...
It will not happen in one day and I am not in hurry. But what do you think about the potential? What can be the max market cap of a company providing this?

Looking for more suggestions.

Targeting people with a ready made online business could be beneficial or targeting people who don't have online stores and giving them some website thats already getting traffic that can convert into leads for them.

I want it to be the preferred store for buying sites with revenue. Will acquire some sites and also will develop some for listing.

Can be a little grey hat but I'd suggest doing /adding something what others aren't. Can be a marketplace for twitter and instagram handles. Can also include payments with crypto.

Also, maybe start it for a focused niche where demand is high for such services and then expand out.

Open BST here and you will find buyers easily if the sites are generating revenue. No need to compete with Flippa or any others.

Of course, I will have bst here. No one sells here sites with revenue. They should have good demand here I expect. I am in the planning stage for the site at the moment.

Depends on what you mean by platform.

I would not for a moment start your own marketplace and try to take on Flippa or EF etc... No matter how much time you put into that, it's just not a battle you can win. Time and big budgets are against you. There's no amount of positive thinking that's going to help, sellers have no reason to use a smaller marketplace.

However, if you can get inventory then you're not competing with them for buyers. Buyers from those marketplaces are looking at websites wherever they can find them. They want deal flow so as long as you have opportunities they're going to look.

I think most of the sites on Motion Invest are awful quality and overpriced, I'll still check most emails and almost impulse-bought one the other day. You don't even have to be that good and you'll still get yourself an email list.

If you're reaching out to website owners to broker their sites or buying, growing and flipping sites then you'll find a hungry market and it's been growing.

Two good books to read: Buy Then Build and Exitpreneur's Playbook.

I like the idea.
You can start selling here. You'll have a lot of customers if you have fair prices.
Anyway I like the idea. Good luck

No idea is useless unless it is not executed well!

I can give you some ideas on how differently you can execute

1. Appoint Sales and Support executives ( Who'll manage particular no of Project sales and also support up-to 6 months)

2. This isn't a generic support (you can transfer the domain and hosting but still you manage gsc, ad networks and affiliates under you)

3. Support isn't free baby (you can charge a monthly percentage from the earnings and transfer the earnings to domain owner)

Hit me up for more ideas and you can add as your partner for this project too (but no investment only ideas ) ;)
