I am new to blogging, an I am in the process of making a technology blog and I am wanting to make money from this so will be setting up a google AdWords and affiliate account, which best is the best platform for this ? I have it on blogger currently but don't have enough content to get my AdWords account etc
If WordPress or another is better for me is it easy to change because my domain name is registered on blogger
Any help is much appreciated

Robh56,

It would really be a matter of preference as to which platform you use however there does tend to be many more plugins and online support for self-hosted Wordpress sites. You may find it easier to make your site more professional looking and easier to optimize with WP. You would have to export content to WP and transferring the domain name is easy enough however it will require some basic knowledge of DNS settings.

Ok thanks for the help,
Once I have set everything up is there any kind of guidance to help me make it successful, this is my first venture into blogging, an I am not clued up as much as I would like to be on SEO etc, I will be reading up on it in the near future

Wordpress. Transfer your site to WP ASAP. No offense to Blogger, but WP premium themes are just much better.

Lots of plug-ins that can help you, especially since your site is in the Technology niche.

To get premium is that what it 99 dollars or is it the one at like 20 dollars as I don't really have the funds to be spending 99 dollars I will have more funds come January

Man, you are in BHW!!! Check out the Downloads section. There are a lot of Premium WP themes there! Download them for FREE!

Basically, you're in the right place. Blogging section is where you ask things you need or wanna know in terms of your blog. You can also check Black Hat SEO or White Hat SEO section. And of course, the Downloads section, where you can get lots of stuff that can help you, without costing you a dime.

Also +1 for self-hosted WordPress. Blogger is nice really, but for real money making I go for self-hosted WordPress over hosted WP - you get all the features for free, and way more customization! To start out with, FabThemes offer very nice, non-encoded themes for use - I currently have four of their themes in use (with minor mods, mind you) and couldn't be happier!

No matter what platform you use, good content is key. Remember that, or you will not rank very high.
