New and need advice on improving backlinks

I'm fairly new at SEO and I'm looking for some advice.

My website has less than 50 domain backlinks. My biggest competitor has over 3,000. I checked into their backlinks and they are getting a lot of them from curated links, x-rumer posts etc.

What would be the best approach to increase my backlinks? Buy one of the link building packages on this site? if so what kind would work best for a technology website?

I know it's probably a very broad question with a lot of possible routes, but hopefully you guys don't mind sharing some of your experience.

Buying such low-quality backlinks would put you in danger of getting Google-penalties.

My advice would be to contact HQ sites that are related to your niche and ask for sponsored guest posts/niche edits.
 
Engage in More quality link building practices. Go for Guest posts it surely helps. Also make sure the link building looks natural. Ensure its quality because it is of utmost importance. Sure you can buy packages here but just make sure the pricing is worth spending. Always choose the best service provider. All the best buddy!!!
 
Don't try to build 3000 links like your competitor. Instead, create good quality backlinks from authority sites. Remember, one backlink from an authority site can beat 3,000 bad quality links any day.
 
Quality is better than quantity
Build high authority quality backlinks like premium guest post quality PBN
 
Your Website might benefit from more links but don't be tempted to follow their path. Focus on building website traffic through more proven methods.
 
What's the difference between your website and your competitor's one, ranking-wise? If their 3000 backlinks are generally low-quality, you can easily outrank them with fewer, but higher-quality backlinks.
 
Create backlinks in High Authority sites relevant to your niche. Guest posting will help your website to rank and boost in search engines in a short period of time. Instead of increasing the backlinks concentrate on quality sites with fewer backlinks that will be a less time-consuming method.

Focus on a quality link like links from an authority site, guest posts and quality PBN. Avoid low-quality links and build links with pace.
A link from the quality and relevant site has more value than more links from the low-quality sites.
 
Thank you guys. It’s really great advice and the general consensus is guest blogging on high ranking sites make a difference.

I have access to do several guest blogs on high ranking relevant sites, so I‘ll get started on that.

I’d really prefer to stay white hat, but it seemed like it was impossible to compete after analyzing several big competitors methods. It’s really good to hear differently.
 
Use sustainable strategies like Guest post & dedicated PBN.
 
Start getting backlinks from high authority websites. If you have a less budget, start getting backlinks from PBN websites (Before choosing it, you have to check a few metrics like Niche based domain, spam-free domain, high domain authority websites, & move)
 
Link to Social share and create a build the backlink on Quality Guestposts, PBN links too...
