New Algorithm For Hashtags & Things I’ve Noticed

Hello all,

So I’ve noticed the last few days the top posts in the hashtags I target are consumed by random, small accounts. Some without too much engagement. These are some pretty big tags as well, I usually rank, but I pull 1-2K+ likes with 30-80 comments depending on post, and I’m now seeing account 100-300 likes, very few comments on top posts. Today I saw 2 with 14 likes and no comments. What is going on?

Now it also seems I am not appearing in the hashtags. I know that this means I am shadow-banned, but even users who follow me can not see me in hashtags (checked).

So if my account fucked? Can you get out of shadow ban?

I've noticed this change recently as well, strange.
 
Might not be your account to blame but IG changing their algo, we'll have to wait and see but I've seen this too on some accounts.
 
There have been a lot of random images ranking for hashtags which shouldn't even come close anywhere to the top, it's probably Instagram updating the algorithm trying to rank images better. We might have to wait a little while until it settles down to see what they're really up to.
 
I’ve noticed that I can see accounts that I follow or are connected to my account in some way in the top post sections. Checked with all 3 of my accs, same thing everywhere.

To me it seems like they are trying to turn this section into something that is more like the explore page, but imo it is sure that they also want to give space to smaller accounts too.
 
I've also noticed a huge change on my accounts. Overall there is fewer total likes, and it takes longer to receive them

Rather than an immediate 75% of the likes within the first 2 hours + 25% clicks over 3-days (ie: 750 in first 2 hours, +250 over 3 days)

now its more like 25% likes in the first 2 hours, and 40% likes over 3 days (250 in first 2 hours, +400 over 3 days)
 
For me it took 16 days to get back my engagement and new followers rate.
It was started suddenly on 6 nov and restored itself on 22 nov.
In between this period i was losing followers, usually i get between 500 to 800 new followers daily.
But at last things got restored by instagram. I saw some other accounts still suffering.

This is a nice growing rate man, what method do you use?

This is unacceptable.

p.s :
I don't blame them tbh haha. People are using so many powerlikes and engagement groups.
They changing algorithms is completely normal in my opinion.

I agree with you man. People are abusing everything. I really can't understand the people who runs 203905238 accounts on an automation bot with useless posts... Or doing something fake excessively...
 
Anyone know whats up with the hashtags algorithm?
Suddenly im not hitting top post anymore but thoose who do get like 2-300 likes while i get atleast 1k?

I think IG doesn't care about being nice, they are just trying to promote their own ads. And those who gets on explore page probably the users who use their ads. Or something like that, but definitely this is not about being nice ;)

You think so. That would be good news if you could promote your producte website and grew insta page at the same time right?

Yeah normal and expected I'd say. Let's see if this was just a one-time thing or this would be the trend
 
Yes, we noticed this on our largest page on Nov 14th, basically flat-lining the growth. See attached chart.

Anyone on BHW have an idea what's up with the new IG stuff?
