Hello,

So I’ve been reading that you should always create a new ad set when trying to increase your budget or change anything.

Can anyone explain the reasoning for this. I dislike this because it removes all the social proof from that ad.

Do I have to create a new ad set even when just increasing my budget?

Also, Facebook seems to take over 24 hours to review my ads. I always have to send a message to support, then the approve it fairly quickly. Anyone else experience this?

Thanks

I don't know what you mean about losing social proof, in this context, but I can tell you Ad sets with different targeting, placements or daily budget are very important.
It's a great way to test which of your Ad Set options are the most relevant and gives you the best results.
Basically, it's a split test.
And don't very 24hours review is standard.

Thanks, by social proof, I mean, all the comments, likes, shares, etc get reset.

I see the importance of different ad sets for split tests. However, if I just want to increase the daily budget of a winning ad set, I need to create a new ad set?

Thanks

I think you mixed up different things.
For budget optimization, you don't need a new Ad Set and you do not reset shares and likes. Every new Campaign for a new marketing plan should include different Ad Sets and every Ad Set would likely have some more or fewer likes, shares etc.
So, you don't lose anything, you always win knowledge. Always analyze, but not too early. Every Ad Set has its learning phase don't expect the best results within 24hours. Be patiently and choose the winning Ad Set before you increase any budget.

!But Caution: Change only 1 component for 1 Ad Set, otherwise you will never find out why and what makes the winner Ad Set better than the others.

Just increase the budget, duplicating is old method which was used to fool their algorithm. Make sure you don't increase it more than 100% PER DAY, otherwise your cpc's will skyrocket.

ahh gotcha, yeah i tried duplicating an ad with higher budget and it didn't go well haha

Thanks!

I am so scared in adding a budget in a good campaign. I tried duplicating its ad set with twice budget more than the original ad set and it looks like it gave the same clicks and impression in my CPA locker (ran for 2 days), to confirm I deleted the duplicate ad set and I will see tomorrow in my stats.

Now my plan is to run a new campaign (different video ad) targeting different country but with a higher budget like $30 or I don't know if I should go for $50.

Edit:
Should I duplicate the good campaign and run it for a higher budget?

I actually don’t think it matters that much if you duplicate or not, but if you edit, it may have to re-review so keep that in mind.

Also, I notice duplicating the ad set, causes a new “post” to be created so te likes and comments all get reset. Unless you’re using an existing post. I have been using existing posts because I like to keep as many likes and comments on display as possible.

I’m no expert though, just my opinion and experience so far.

There is no new "post" when duplicating an ad set. You are just duplicating your targets, budget etc. and just using the same post that your promoting. In my experience, I duplicate ad set if I want to scale my daily budget or target other countries.
