I clicked on a link that has amazon.com on google sposored ad but when clicked took me a different website. I am still wondering how ?

to cloak or redirect they have to have root access right?

By "google sponsored ad" you mean google ad, right? If that's the case, you can type whichever link you want into your ad, but how to redirect it to a different site I don't know because I'm not good at black hat. But I know it's possible...

No They didn't. They Just used a redirect link which can be achieved from I think their aws console or whatever it is called. (I am not sure but i think it is the way)you mean did they hck into amazon?

it's likely the add was deceptive. designed to look like an amazon add in recent days there are more happening like this.

That click was a sneaky attempt to trick you!!! Deceptive advertisers might use a sneaky tactic to show something different to users.

Scam ads can hide real addresses. Always hover over the ad to see the true website before clicking. If it doesn't match a trusted site like Amazon, avoid it!
