Nobody donates money to my blog, how else can I make money and keep my blog free of invasive ads and paid subscriptions?

wow man, make someone to donate is tough, it harder to get them click on the ads...
unless u doing something extraodinary and giveaway for free, then u may get a chance....

Ya I agree I would offer some sort of incentive that would want to make them donate.

You expect somebody to donate to your blog? That is begging..

Why you would not put ads on your blog? If you serious about making money with your blog than put up some ads and dont be shy about it. Put up adsense and promote hell out of your blog...

Donation = Begging? Go check out www.wikipedia.org

Donations are all about stellar content, free offered services and/or a product people are interested in.

Software projects, really smart content or services are the only way you'll make money through donations without gaming the system.

You aren't going to get donations from the standard IM methods, you actually have to create a brand for yourself, build it for free, get people interested and then get them to care enough about what you're doing to get the donations coming in.

Ads are a far better way to go, maing.

I'd donate to a firefox addon creator before a blogger, and even though I make plenty I'd still never donate to the addon creator. Come on, this is the age of pirating music, videos, games, iphone apps, scripts, layouts, and software. We don't skimp on paying the rightful owners so that we have money left to just "donate" to some blog. Maybe if the blog is insane good, but I'm pretty sure yours is nowhere near that or you'd have invasive ads to monetize you traffic.

I've not had anyone knock on my door and give me money either... what's your point?

Maybe you be trolling?

You have to ask yourself, "would I ever donate to a blog?" Of course not! Unless it was going to get shut down or something was going to change, I wouldn't be moved to pay a single cent.

The purpose of these blogs isn't to get donations but to monetize them yourself. Don't wait for other people to give you money because it will never happen. Pick one of the hundreds of monetization methods on this site and try it out. What harm could it do?

answer me bro..

can you tell me the reason why we (as the vsitor) must donate some penny to your blog ?

maybe i can put some donate button at my hundo blog. maybe i can be reach for a zap today.

Why should people have to donate your blog? It has any importance to give them? People will donate, if you do good service or share something. .

So try to attract people with your product in your site. .

Thanks

Unless you have a super helpful website that helps people solve tech issues...meaning you attend to their personal questions they post on your website, you can expect some donations...

I read somewhere that John Chow made $125 odd in one month through donations..If you know this guy is called by some the blogging king. He is very helpful and posts informative stuff for his users. Also, he has thousands of hits on his website every day( may be more, I don't know for sure) If this guy made a mere $100, I mean think how much will others be able to earn through donations..

Hi there
Let me suggest to take out the donation button and put a charity related banner find some on CJ or linkshare for example, Here you are still looking good to readers while you can proudly say to be supporting such Good causes, later any clicks, sales or doantions will bank for you :D nice cash.

Consider teh side that well established Non profits "know" how to raise funds and donors while still sharing some % with their affiliates.

Last tip; make sure to boldly urge and let your readers know that it is key to at least learn about this cause(s) -
TIP: Start by the TAX savings thing ;)

I hope this small advice has helped you

regards

Mark
