I did a promotion deal with a company where I was promised a knife and a watch in return (around $100 in value). I was sent confirmation e-mails to my inbox of the items being shipped.

But lo and behold! The items were never actually sent and now I'm planning to confront them about this.
I have all the e-mails of them clearly stating what the deal would include.

What should I do in this situation?

Make a post, call them out and tag all the people that dealt with them before. :D

On your site I would got a maximum of information about this company and then went to a lawyer.

Make them very aware that you will post the emails and promises on Insta/Facebook and make them believe you have some powerful accounts and friends to do so. More than likely they will crap themselves and follow through with their promise. Otherwise, legally, there is probably little you can do that is worth your time and effort. Tell them you have hundreds of bots that you use for business promotion that you will happily turn against their hashtag to promote your bad experience.

Going to court over $100 is a waste of time and money. Unless you're dead set on the principle of the thing.

I like the idea of threatening to out them over FB. Even if you have to exaggerate, you could say you have access to 50 million followers or something on SM. Which may not be too far off, since I'm sure some people would be willing to help you out them on Instagram.

When did you get that confirmation email anyway?

It's a $100 , I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Get the tracking number (not the confirmation email) from them to see if they actually shipped something to your location. Anybody saying go to court is out of their mind. If they didn't and you want to get back then make a post on your instagram telling your followers not to do business with them since they lie and they stole money from you, tag them and then see how they react.

Let this be a lesson learned. All of the instagrammers I've worked with want the product first before doing a promotion, for obvious reasons.

Okay so I won't go to court for this obviously. I have emailed them explaining the situtation and basically asked them to be respectable business people and do hteir part of the deal.

If they don't respond within 3 days I will take action, probably by ruining their hashtags or something like that.
If someone has a big account and would like to help me in this, please hit me up!

PS: Am I allowed to post their Instagram handles and our email conversation here? Or does that break the forum rules?

Confront them for sure but dont waste too much effort. Your time is more valuable than $100

I think the fact they valued your followers to promoted their business in the first place probably means they care if you post negativity about them too.

If you do a post calling them out I'm sure a lot of us would happily comment slagging the company off on said post for you...

Court for some knife and watch $100 worth, lol guys ?

Just saying "hello" to a lawyer will cost you probably more than that. If you know what I mean right.

In my opinion just get over it and forget about it. Continue and focus on things which will work.
To focus more on this little knife/watch scam is a waste of time and energy in my opinion.

So you're saying I should just bend over and let them fuck with me. Who knows how they would treat smaller pages if they give my fairly big account (8000+ likes) such bad treatment.

UPDATE:

I e-mailed them about it and they shit their pants. My e-mail had quite a "bossy" tone so that might've helped.
I also got a gift card which is nice.

Does anybody know if I'm allowed to post the company name here? Just to warn other people.

Forget about it and move on. Thats what the big guys would do here. Focusing more on this is a waste.

SImple as that.

If they fixed the issue, just move on man.
