Yea I need my Ip changed everytime I log on to the internet and I have cable with TWC.

I need dial up because this seems like only the option I can use for my ip needs.

Is netzero still any good ??

Yah I just tried it for a month and it's good, like $9.95 unlimited

Dial-up is just soooo slowwww

Aircards and DSL when possible

EDIT: Oh yah and Cable modems with DHCP IP Forcer - only works if standard modem (non router)

yeh its good, but it depend on what u are doing.

and I am using a cable modem that takes standard telephone lines. This should work right ?
Sorry for the newb questions.

@crunch :Well I am only using it to post on cl, nothing else

yea the friggin lady told me my ip doesnt change everytime I connect to the internet... wtf

Yea I cant do it, I use a cable modem for the home phone. I dont use a wall jack to make calls

wow netzero, talk about a blast for the past. there has to be another option, what about air card and going to starbucks? or public internet at the library?

hmmmmmmmmm, I am in nyc. Public internet at the library might work and so might starbucks.

I mean all I have to do is reconnect, but do these ips already have a soft block in place ??

Got to test I guess.

no, for dial up you need a modem (either built into ur computer or standalone) not a cable modem, remember how we used to connect in
the 90's :D

then u plug ur phone line into ur modem, fire up netzero software and dial up from any area code u like.

But I still have the netzero option, just no phone jack ( due to cable modem ) service.
Is there any way around this without paying verizon $60.00 to turn on a phone jack lol

Maybe magicjack lol... ?

@crunch: No I have an old mac g4, still has a built in modem, but I have time warner cable
and I think the phone service we have is voip. The phone line goes into the cable modem not the wall mounted phone jack. Which is why I can't use net zero. The cable modem is an motorola surfboard sbv5220...

I still have a netzero connection that I use from time to time for various purposes but I only pay $4.95 a month. I can't really see how their $9.95 package is any faster than the $4.95. I mean dial up is slow as hell no matter what but it does come in handy for certain things.

How far are you from Bryant park or Penn Station? The public Wifi there is pretty good and I frequently use them (with a sanitized laptop & fake MAC address) to do my dirty work. Starbucks you've got to pay and the payment can be traced back to you, but maybe that is ok for you.

ok i am fucking idiot there is an option for cable/dsl, so the phone jack is no issue. But I checked my ip and its still the same lol. Anyway to change ips from a cable modem, I am using a different ISP .......

I have Comcast telephone service and just have a splitter run from my cable modem. Works fine for me.

ohh ok, i gotcha. i have a proper landline, im pretty sure that u cant use dial up with voip, as u need high speed for voip. i got majicjack and i think that will be the same, but ill try and dial up through it and let u know.

@jinjanggoe, well I am in flushing, in queens so I am just a 7 train away. All I need this for is to post on cl. I dont want to get the softbloack and make accounts, pva's etc... call me spoiled but that shit just slows me down.

So I guess tommorrow I will have a little road trip lol

How much is starbucks charging ??

@crunch : Thanks man I really appreciate it and they said BHW was fulll of tools lol..
