Should I attempt to join a network? Freedom or mediacore for example. I'm a very small channel, just starting out.

by all methods, if you have a chance to join a network, join it.it will keep you accountable so that you are consistent in posting and all that

Should do before but now when you was unlinked from Network, your channel will be reset monetization and wait for manual review , should not.

I will recommend you to check the success graph of the previous members and history.
If you find that useful , only then join there otherwise dont waste your precious time .
