Well, by now everyone uses AI to some degree. Could you outline some examples you've noticed? It's not even necessarily AI, they might have just boiled down to what works the best and just sticking to that formula with slight modifications to cater to each target audience. The same thing could be said about similar genre movies/shows from a specific time period, there would be some major similarities among them.

The writers want to get paid for the least amount of work, its so much easier to have a set amount of different types of stories, and then fill in the rest.

Since AI show up for sure everyone will use it but netflix found the best mix of the series to attrack people so doesn't matter if is the same every time as long as continue bringing more people doesn't matter if is copy paste of history they care about money not originallity.

Epic now a days almost all drama will have sex , rape ... I actually more prefer Violence ones like Gangster type. Peaky Blinders is one good an example is all time fav.
