my experience with 1and1 really has been pathetic.

I don't know anything about their hosting but I purchase all of my domains through them and I have never had any issues with them.
That coupon only works for 5 domains I think is what it was. But you can open new accounts and use it more then once. I have used it 4 or 5 times and it always works.
I also have never had to speak with them on the phone.
