wow... everyone's saying .net... every hyped up guru pushed info product I've ever read says .org over even .com.

And no, I'm not being snide or saying everyone here is wrong... I'm just gonna go and buy some .nets and test it myself.

ESPECIALLY since I've become more interested in yahoo/bing as of late....

I'd say it depends on the niche of your website. For example, if it's an ecommerce site, I'd go with .net, and if it's a more informational website, .org would suit it.
 
Depends on the niche for me. MY testing has shown me that google will rank a .net and .org the same. However if it's a health, self help, information site I always go .Org and if it's a product related domain I'll go .net
For example
NaturalAnxietyRemedies.org <--- sounds more like an innocent organization here to help with the .org

CheapestYogaMats.net <-- product domain looks better with .net

Short answer: IMO they rank the same
 
I prefer .net...but there is no big differences, you'll not gonna wrong with .org too.
