Hi everyone,

I have a doubt and if someone could help me i would be very grateful.
I want register a domain and I found a expired domain .net, the .com is not available. The usage of this domain is for a niche blog. is there a difference between .net and .com? is better i use a .com domain or it doesn't matter?

Thank you

a .com is generally always preferred as it's more commercially recognized and valuable, however a .net should be just fine - there will be no differences in being able to rank the domain etc.

.com is highly recommended, as it is used widely have more presence and more value.

.net will be perfect for your blog, it is a top level TLD and will rank as well as a .com

Makes no difference. .com, .net, and .org are all highly recognized and trusted domains.

Never once in my life have I not clicked a link because it was a .net. The only time I get sketchy about clicking links is when it's a shit domain ending like a .tk or something cheap like a .xyz. No one thinks that way about the recognizable main ones.

I'll choose .com or .co.uk where possible, but also have .net, .info and .org domains.

I personally avoid the cheap, spammy looking ones for a main site.

No differences between .com and .net for SEO. But .com is better for other reasons.

.com is cheaper to renewal. But that's just couple of usd. Plus I think .com is more catchy than a .net. But since you are looking for expired domains, if the .net one has a strong life profile I would go for it.

If .com is not available and you really want that domain, then go for .net. I usually use .com though

.com is better than.net, I will prefer .com always

I think is way easier for users to remember a .com domain name than any other domain due to the popularity
They are also easier to brand, promote, and help you grow your business.

you can use any of them, there is no limitation on both domains for SEO and ranking purpose.

.com is the best one to use, but .net won't necessarily hurt

We register what is (.net), and .com attempts to intercept, if possible.

There is no stated rule about choosing a particular domain name for a particular type of site. Use of .NET is generally, but not limited to, companies providing network infrastructure/services. A .COM domain is not limited to any particular type of website, it’s almost universal in nature and has highest recall value among internet users. Definitely, getting a .COM domain is very good, if one is available that you are searching for.

The best alternative to a .COM domain are gTLDs. Generic TLDs (gTLDS) are newly introduced domains that perfectly describes the type/category of a site.
